The traditional bottle seal for the 450 ml bottles that attach to the ABI ratchet cap are no longer available however we do sell the gaskets for these bottles as a replacement for the original bottle seal. The gasket is available in 2 different materials: EP and Chemraz. EP will work for all reagents however it will not last as long as Chemraz but the EP is a lot lower cost than the Chemraz. The Part Numbers for the gaskets are: EP gasket that is 0.030 inch thick is PN: 382-100507 Chemraz gasket that is 0.030 inch thick is PN: 382-100252 The gasket is used in a slightly different way than the original bottle seal. To use the original bottle seal, the seal was placed on the top of the bottle. The gasket must be installed in the bottle cap. To install the gasket in the bottle cap you can try to put the gasket inside the cap using a small tool like a small flat blade screwdriver or a lab spatula to push it up into the cap and get it to sit flat. The center hole in the gasket fits into a grove that is in the white Teflon center part of the bottle cap. When installing a new gasket it is a good idea to rub a light coating of vacuum grease onto both sides of the gasket. If you cannot get the gasket to go into the cap this way you will need to disassemble the cap and install the gasket. To disassemble the cap you need to remove the 2 tall nuts that secure the black top part of the cap to the instrument frame. After removing the 2 tall nuts with a ¼ inch open end wrench, you need to unscrew the cap screw ring from the top. Then install the gasket onto the surface of the white Teflon cap center. Push the center of the Teflon part into the center hole in the gasket. Screw the screw ring back onto the top and reinstall the assembly with the 2 tall nuts. After installing the gasket in the bottle cap the bottle with no seal (just the glass bottle) is screwed into the bottle cap. The gasket should last a long time.
